Tuesday, August 12, 2008 in the Evening

Hi, I am Zander (SWM). I am single, 4 weeks old tomorrow and I am interested in long walks in the park or on the beach. I am a Cancer which means that I am sensitive and I am deeply devoted to family, pain medications, diaper changes and nurses. My eyes are blue (for now), I am a little over 9 pounds, and I do come with some strings (and cords) attached. My biggest attribute is my innocence; however, I like to think that I am a fighter. My favorite clothing line is Pampers, and I love wearing nothing but socks. I do require a sensitive touch and frequent kisses. I am not yet sure if I am a Momma's boys or a Daddy's boy, but it appears that they will suffice as parents. If interested, please feel free to drop me a line and I will get back with you soon or feel free to leave a comment.
I am breathing well today and hope that they will increase my feedings tomorrow. My Grandma Sandy came to see me today, but she is going back to Florida tomorrow. I am resting well and they have decreased my pain medications to every 3 hours. I am now taking medicine to help with my slight yellowish color (minor jaundice), but many of my roommates are under the tanning lamps throughout the day. Hopefully, I will be tan soon and I have a note in to my nurses about giving me equal time under the tanning lights, but it does not appear they are listening to me.
I am now getting tired and will sign off for now. I appreciate all of the interest in me and the comments concerning my well-being. The Olympics are on and some guy named Phelps is going for his 64th Gold Medal, so I am going to see if he gets it. I will write again tomorrow...if not sooner.
Good night big brothers. I heard you had a fun first day of school. I will be home soon, well I really do not know when, but I can't wait to get there. Tell Mom and Dad hello and I love them.

We all knew Zander was *gifted* and with a teacher

waited THIS long to write!

Zander Your Dad is a nut, but he comes from GRRRRRT stock. He is a mult-plex person with a variety of ethnic origins. Mainly German, Welsh, English, and Italian and there may be more. Whew, what a line. Someday when your older come to my house and I'll fill you in on your heritage background. It's a great one with lots of sensitive caring people, which from what I can tell your Dad has inherited a lot of. I could write a book. You would have loved those family reunions, my how you have grown. You are a sweetheart and so are all the other members of this ever-so-big family. The Knellinger and Caramadres were the cord that held the clan together. The heat lamp helps alot by the way and who knows maybe you'll even get a little suntan. Hope Ethan is doing much better, will keep on praying for both of you. How's your grandma Judy? and Great Grandpa Jim? You better take advantage of all these feedings and diapering. These nurses like to hold babies too, from time to time, and they love what they do? Well, take care little one, and say hi to that crazy daddy of yours. Oh, and if you should get a comment from a Jerry Martin, he's my pastor. Your cousin Cele and family

Zander,

I am sure your inbox will be flooded with responses. You are the perfect little guy! I get to work with your daddy from time to time, and I know he will be screening all of the responses. Nobody but the best for his boys! Before long, you'll be headed off to school with your brothers. At the rate you're going, seeing that you are now posting to the blog at four weeks, you'll have a Ph.D. in no time flat!

Seriously, I'm happy to hear about Zander's progress and the boys' good first day at school. I hope Christie's was good as well. And yours too, Clancy. Thanks for the updates! :)

One more thing, Zander. Let me know next time you need something taken down and transcribed. I can do it faster than your dad. No charge for sweet infants!

Zander, Happy(one month)Birthday.
I have been followning you daily and feel that I know all your family. My sister and your daddy worked together. I can't wait to meet you and your family. Ask your brothers what kind of quilt they would like and I will try to make them one and you another one. Keep asking for the tanning light and you will have a hard time keeping all those cute girls away from you. I will check in with you tomorrow. Love and prayers to you and your family.

Hi, big Zman - great to hear from you directly and to see your eyes wide open again! And speaking of olympics, you are the champ and how wonderful it is to share with you the "thrill of victory!" Just know "Mrs. Peggy" and I continue to pray for you . . . in fact, here is a special prayer for you right now:

"Dear God, how we thank You for bringing Zander safely and successfully through another surgery, for enabling him to tolerate and assimulate his food, for blessing him with ability to breath on his own without that wonderful (when it is needed) machine, for the healing taking place in his body, for the excellent care he is receiving, for doctors and nurses who are devoted to him, for parents and family who give him unfailing love, for many who are praying for him, and for the millions of other blessings You are giving (many of which only You know)! How awesome, with all that is going on in this whole wide world, You can give unceasing attention to little Zander! We just want You to know we are really really thankful and do not take You for granted. We pray now that Zander will continue to develop and heal ahead of schedule and grow to be one who will always bring honor and glory to You, Father. We pray this esophogas wrap surgery will not be necessary, but we are confident You will do what is RIGHT. And, God, even as we pray in a rather selfish state of being, we are aware that those in need today are countless on our part (even though they are infinitely personal to You) so we ask a special blessing today on Ethan and his parents along with the countless masses of hurting in this world. And thank You once again, Lord Jesus, for opening the door of prayer for us and for Your personal intercessions. . . in Your Name we pray. Amen"

Hello Zander, just a quick question - are you named after Zander from Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Keep an eye on that Phelps guy. My daughter has told me he is my future son-in-law. Once you get your myspace and facebook together, you can friend Tatiana at myspace.com/tatianamcmahan or find her under her name on Facebook.

You are the most handsome single man I've seen in a while.

Zander you are an amazing little boy and it is a joy to me to read how you are progressing in each of your daddy's posts. On days when I feel overwhelmed I can come to your website and see just how much God is at work in your life and it gives my spirits a boost!

You are a little young for dating and as a computer teacher I think I'm going to have to talk to your day about allowing you to have access to the Internet at such a young age!

You are loved Covert family! Let us know how we can best minister to you during this time.
