Sunday Night September 7, 2008

Hello everyone. We hope everyone is rested up and ready for a new week. It has been a hectic, but restful weekend. Jackson's team won their soccer game and Houston and I took Jackson to a birthday party today. This allowed Jackson to burn off the excess energy that he had earlier today.
Zander is doing well. Christie and I have been training on his trach care and other aspects of his care. IT APPEARS THAT THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THAT HE WILL BE COMING HOME IN THE NEXT 2 OR 3 WEEKS ASSUMING HIS CONTINUES TO MOVE FORWARD AS HE HAS BEEN. According to the medical staff, he will likely need private duty nursing around the clock for a period of time, but we should know more this week. We will likely be talking with Pearl, the case worker at Erlanger about ordering his medical equipment and other aspects of scheduling him to come home.
Zander's feeds have been increased. He is now receiving 20 ml every hour on a continuous basis from 8 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. He will continue to receive 30 mls at 8 11, 2 and 5 during the day.
We were advised today that Zander did not pass his 2nd hearing test. I do not know the ramifications of this, but we are praying that his hearing is fine. Hopefully his hearing is in some way related or delayed by his nostril/sinus problems. We are also praying that his MRI test (scheduled for Monday) will be of benefit in planning a course of action on his vertebra issue. Zander will also have an ultrasound on his head to compare the prior ventricularmegaly studies (before birth) to now.
As the pictures above show, Zander is alert and curious about his surroundings. According to his nurse Dallas, Zander slept all through the night and did not wake up until 9 this morning.
Thanks to everyone for the prayers for our family. They are still needed and if we can pray for you, please let us know. We hope Ethan, Eli, Chad and Amber are doing well. Since Georgia won yesterday, I am sure all is well in Calhoun, GA. We hope everyone gets off on the right foot tomorrow.
Sweet dreams boys.....we love you.....rest well.
Zander, I know you hear us, but if you don't, know that you are loved by many, especially Mommy and Daddy. Keep moving along.
Clancy

I say to myself,"The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him."

The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him,to the one who seeks him; (Lamentations 3:24 and25)

Praise God that you might get to bring little Zander home soon! I will pray as often as possible about the hearing issue.

We love you guys!

Clancy and Christie,
My prayers r with us and for u. God say He won't give us more then we can handle. I couldn't think of better parents for little Zman. Parents that r full of faith, grace and fully leaning on Him.
Hold on and know that there r many behind, beside and in front of u.
Much Love,
Jill

You all continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. It seems like you do have more to bear than you should, but you are examples of Godliness in the honest and faithful way you are trusting God. Zander is one blessed little man to have you two! Counting the days 'til he's home with you. . . .
Love,
the Zieglers

Hey guys! Glad everything is going well. So glad that they are mentioning the "H" word! That's great! Believe it or not there is a light at the end of the tunnel, it's just taking Ethan and Zander awhile to find it. God is in control though! He is good and seems he's taking very good care of our little men. Hope all is well in Pod 4. We miss everybody! We will be coming up on the 19th for appts so maybe if ya'll are at the NICU we can visit. Tell everybody in Pod 4 we said hello. Take care! Go Dawgs!

Yeah Dawgs!! I like Ethan and his Family already, and I have never met them!

Just wanted to let you know that Zander, you, Christie, and the Boys are all still very much in my prayers. Just like to leave you a note every now and then to let you know that.

No mater how Big everything seems right now, our God is so much bigger. Glad to hear the Zman may be comming home soon. I know you all will rest much easier when the whole family is together.

May God Bless you and Keep you and your family.
